Channels and playlists: what to follow and why
Back to GuidesYouTube offers two ways to group videos, and Summarizer.xyz can follow both. A channel publishes on a schedule you do not control. A playlist contains only the videos you add.
Follow a channel when the source is already part of your work or study. Each new upload can be turned into a summary and stored in your account, so you don’t have to check the page yourself or park another video in Watch Later.
Use a playlist when you want a narrower queue. That helps when a channel is uneven, or when the list belongs to a task rather than to a creator. A consultant can keep one playlist per client. A student can keep the lectures needed this week. Only those titles are summarized.
The playlist must be public or unlisted, because private lists cannot be read. It also needs to stay under the length limit. If it grows past that point, new items stop syncing until the list is shortened.
A channel is for whatever the creator publishes next. A playlist is for the videos you have already chosen.
